Learn how to build your very own sauna out of mud, rock, sand, bamboo, natural, from-the-site timber and recycled materials.
The earth is inherently beautiful. Designs made from natural materials and inspired by natural patterns inspire the same awe as the natural world as we engage in designing and interacting with it. Using the same techniques that stand as 10 storey mud towers, as 900 year old castles in Yemen, the techniques of 500 year old strawbale cottages in England, we’re going to build the most beautiful sauna you’ve ever seen, almost for free (now that’s adding value).
In this course we will make cob from scratch, creatively use materials from the land in impossible to reimagine ways, harvest, treat, cure and build with bamboo. We will build in ways that were traditional to our planet but are unimaginable for most of us now.
Come join this practical course that will cover all the basics and complexities of natural building, as well as an opportunity to see a 20 year old strawbale house on Zaytuna Farm, come learn what it takes to build any natural structure from start to finish.
