2 Day Solar Power Workshop 8th to 9th of July

This is our entry level course which is designed to give you a general understanding of what’s required to design your own Off-Grid Power system. At the end of this course you will be able to confidently design a power system to meet your energy demands.

  • Load demands
  • Building designs and passive solar homes.
  • Hot water systems.
  • DIY vs paying a professional.
  • Energy Efficiency.
  • How to use technology correctly in your smart Off Grid home.
  • Electric Vehicles.

Bonus

In this course we are also going to have some hands-on experiences at Zaytuna Farm on some of the basics of an install.

9am – 3pm both days

MEALS:

Meals are not included, however, You can purchase delicious farm-fresh meals from our on-site cafe as well as coffee and tea, and cakes.  Basic self-catering facilities are available on site.

ABOUT THE TEACHER

Mike Haydon

Mike Haydon is the owner and operator of The Off Grid Shop, a store dedicated to providing sustainable and self-sufficient living solutions for individuals and families. With over a decade of experience in the off grid industry, Mike is a knowledgeable and passionate advocate for living sustainably and reducing our dependence on traditional systems.
Prior to starting The Off Grid Shop, Mike spent several years living and working on off grid properties, honing his skills in renewable energy systems and sustainable building. Mike also is well-versed in the latest technologies and techniques for living sustainably.

Mike is passionate about educating others about the benefits of living off grid and helping people to achieve their own self-sufficient lifestyles. He frequently hosts workshops and events at The Off Grid Shop, sharing his expertise and knowledge with others who are interested in exploring sustainable living.

This PDC will be taught at Zaytuna Farm, As one of the leading Permaculture demonstration sites in the world, Zaytuna Farm has a range of functioning systems including water harvesting, food production, and a very productive animal husbandry. All of which will add to the learning experience and make this course a very rich experience and one not to be missed.
